Professor Deborah Greaves

Professor Deborah Greaves

Professor Deborah Greaves is a Plymouth University professor in ocean engineering and the director of the Coast Laboratory, the university’s unique marine research facility.

Deborah’s particular fields of interest are wave structure interaction – a topic which is under study in the field of quantum science with regard to the theory of wave-particle duality (a theory which explores the notable differences between the behaviour of waves and the electrons or matter which comprise everyday objects) – and wave energy.

In this video, she explores some of the ways in which a career in coastal engineering can advance scientific understanding and suggests why this particular career path is important right now.
