Planetary Alignment

In an alignment which hasn’t occurred since 2005, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will be visible to those of us in the Northern hemisphere in the night sky for the next month. This is because all five planets will be on the same side of the sun at the same time.

Dr Robert Massey from the Royal Astronomical Society has advised that the best time to see this occurrence in the UK will be on Friday 5th February 2016, just before sunrise, when the planets will be joined by a crescent moon.
